What's HashiCorp about?

HashiCorp was founded by Mitchell Hashimoto and Armon Dadgar in 2012 with the goal of revolutionizing data center management: application development, delivery, and maintenance.

HashiCorp pioneered the creation and use of cloud infrastructure automation, providing consistent workflows to provision, secure, connect, and run any infrastructure for any application. Adobe, Barclays, Pandora, Hulu, Roblox, and Cloudflare are some of the more than 1,500 enterprises we have helped to transition from manual processes and ITIL practices to self-service automation and DevOps practices.

HashiCorp’s tools provide a control plane for each layer of the cloud, enabling organizations to make the shift to a cloud operating model. Each product addresses specific technical and organizational challenges of cloud infrastructure automation.

• Provision with HashiCorp Terraform: Use reproducible infrastructure as code to provision any cloud, or infrastructure.

• Secure with HashiCorp Vault: Manage secrets and protect sensitive data.

• Connect with HashiCorp Consul: Automate service-based networking in the cloud.

• Run with HashiCorp Nomad: Deploy and manage any containerized, legacy or batch application.

HashiCorp Terraform provides infrastructure automation with workflows to build composition, collaboration, and reuse of infrastructure as code while providing standardization for security, compliance, and management. The extensibility allows for integration with workflows to drive innovation with self-service workflows.

HashiCorp Vault tightly controls access to secrets and encryption keys by authenticating against trusted sources of identity such as Active Directory, LDAP, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, and cloud platforms. Vault enables fine grained authorization of which users and applications are permitted access to secrets and keys.

HashiCorp Consul provides a central control plane to enable multi-cloud networking for dynamic environments. Adopt a central service registry to provide a real-time directory of running services. Deliver network infrastructure automation to reduce ticketing systems. Deploy a service mesh to securely connect services.

HashiCorp Nomad is a simple and flexible workload orchestration system, an automated way to manage the lifecycle of containerized and non-containerized applications across an entire fleet. It is designed to natively handle multi-datacenter and multi-region deployments and is cloud-agnostic.
